Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting young people on the Spear Programme to unleash their potential.

Our volunteers tell us it’s a rewarding experience. Our trainees tell us it’s valuable and inspiring to meet and work with volunteers.

We have centres across England and Wales, from Bournemouth to Cardiff to Gateshead and you can select your nearest centre in the form below.

Opportunities to volunteer include:

  • Offering practice or “mock” interviews to young people
  • Being on a Q&A panel answering questions from young people about your career and sharing tips
  • Attending a Spear Celebration evening at your local centre: young people share their ambitions and the impact of the Spear Programme on their life
  • Supporting young people at our Spear Celebration events.

Spear trainees frequently tell us that having done mock interviews makes a huge difference when they encounter the real thing. To find out more about attending a Spear Celebration near you, see our events page.

Volunteering opportunities are typically on weekday afternoons. The number of roles available fluctuates. Volunteers must live in the UK. The information you give us in the form below helps us understand more about you. If you have any questions about the form or volunteering with us, contact: [email protected].
