Volunteers play a vital role in supporting young people on the Spear Programme to unleash their potential.

Our volunteers tell us it’s a rewarding experience. Our trainees tell us it’s valuable and inspiring to meet and work with volunteers.

We have centres across England and Wales, from Bournemouth to Cardiff to Gateshead and you can select your nearest centre in the form below.

Opportunities to volunteer include:

Offering practice or “mock” interviews to young people
Being on a Q&A panel answering questions from young people about your career and sharing tips
Attending a Spear Celebration evening at your local centre: young people share their ambitions and the impact of the Spear Programme on their life
Supporting young people at our Spear Celebration events.

“So I really, really enjoyed the career panel. It was nice to speak to Joe, James and Andrew, each from different sectors, and learn from their experiences and how they pivoted from one sector to another. And I enjoyed the mock interview…it was rigorous, but it was a good experience. And it was nice that we were able to do it twice so we got feedback after the first round, and we were able to implement that after…It’s an invaluable experience that I’ll hold onto beyond Spear.”
