Spear’s new Impact Report is published today, showcasing the youth employment charity’s impact supporting unemployed young people into sustainable work.
The 2025 report highlights a year of growth for Spear, as new Spear centres opened in York St Helen’s (Merseyside), enabling the charity to support 1176 young people who are facing barriers to work.
Pete Bacon, Spear's Director of Impact and Partnerships, shares:
“I’m delighted to share our 2025 Impact Report. Reflecting on 2025, it was a year of learning and investing for future impact. Alongside two new centres, we launched a Northern Regional Hub, to act as a centre of excellence for local centres, and created a Quality and Development team to invest more deeply in our coaching teams. As we continue to build, I’m grateful to be part of an incredible group of individuals and organisations all playing their part.”
Iona Ledwidge, Chief Executive Officer, adds:
“The UK’s young people are facing a challenging environment, with almost a million 16-24-year-olds not in education, employment or training. Reaching young people through Spear has never ben more crucial. In 2025, we reached 1176 young people in high-need areas. Across all of our centres, 90% of Spear completers are still in touch a year later, and over 70% move into work or study.”
To launch the report, guests gathered in Central London to hear from the Spear team, Ayesha Balloch from Impetus, corporate supporters and young people who have benefited from the programme.
