The Spear Programme helped John to dream bigger and find support.
John was placed in care at the age of 9, where he experienced abuse. As a young adult he turned to drugs and alcohol – and says he didn’t recognise himself. He came along to the Spear Programme for support to get into work, and started out with the simple dream of treating himself to a meal in a restaurant.
